Join the Movement: Plastic Free July!

Plastic Free July is an annual global movement that encourages people to reduce their plastic consumption during the month of July and beyond. It started in 2011 in Australia and has since grown into a worldwide campaign. The movement has inspired more than 100 million participants in 190 countries.

We encourage you to participate in the initiative to, on the one hand, yourself be more aware of microplastics harming the environment and reduce the use of plastics, while on the other hand to engage others to do the same! It is a great opportunity to instil some great habits and create a more sustainable future!

This year, the Plastic Free July campaign operates under the slogan “Small steps, big difference”. These small steps have been visible over the last five years with 10 billion kilograms of household waste having been avoided, thanks to the participants’ initiatives.

Some actions you could undertake:

Why not select natural fibres, especially with the hot summer days ahead of us…

…you can also use reusable water bottles as we have access to safe drinking water almost everywhere…

Consider buying less items when you go shopping, choosing only those on your list…

Use your reusable shopping bag, and remember that the best bag is the one you already have…

If you are living near the beach, why not organize a local clean-up…

…you can also do so in a park – not only will you collect waste but be in fresh air!
