Description of the Green Initiative

Target groups

On one hand: regional producers of meat, fish and processed dairy products. On the other hand: consumers who want to buy plastic free.


Objectives

The objective is saving plastic so that customers can have their fresh produce packed by the farmer/producer in special stainless steel vacuum containers.

They work through a network of regional producers, offer a platform and community for zero waste shop, a website and a blog with recipes.


Description

Unverpackt is based on a concept with reusable stainless steel boxes for meat and cheese products, which are taken back at all participating businesses.

They operate with a wide range of zero waste stores through networking, support and franchise.


Impact

Consumers can save plastics. Awareness for sustainable consumption in different villages, local and online supply of zero-waste products.


Innovative elements

Circulation system for storage boxes. Network and facilitation for entrepreneurs to start a zerowaste store.
