In this module, we will look into the sources of plastic pollution in the ocean, including improper disposal of single-use plastic items, industrial fishing practices, and sewage systems. We will explore the alarming impact of plastics on marine life, from entanglement to ingestion of plastic waste, as well as the devastating consequences for coral reefs and other ecosystems.
In this section we also make available PowerPoint Presentations, one per RESCUE training module. Each presentation includes theory, recommendations from the authors, some practical tasks, references, and additional learning resources.
All module activities, those included as practical sessions within the e-learning, are also available to download to the desktop.
